1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Shelfie (shelfie-app.com), a service owned and operated by Wouter Schong, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
2. Authentication and Account Responsibility
Shelfie utilizes Google OAuth for secure login.
- You are responsible for the security of your own Google account.
- Shelfie does not store your Google password.
- You agree to provide accurate information (Name and Email) during the sign-in process.
3. Infrastructure and Data Residency
The service is built using a modern tech stack (Next.js, Supabase, Vercel) with infrastructure located exclusively in the European Union (EU). By using this service, you acknowledge and consent to your data being processed and stored in the EU.
4. User Content and Visibility
- Personal Collection: Your private book collection is only visible to you.
- Collaboration: When you join a “GROUP Shelfie,” your profile name and avatar are visible to other members of that group.
- Public Links: If you toggle a shelfie to “Public,” you acknowledge that the content and your profile name will be accessible to the general public.
5. Termination
You may delete your account at any time, which will result in the immediate and permanent deletion of your data from our servers. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that engage in illegal activity or attempt to breach our security protocols.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
Shelfie is provided “as is” and “as available.” While we strive for 100% uptime and data integrity, we make no warranties regarding the continuous availability of the service.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the owner, Wouter Schong, resides.
